SPRAY TANNING QUESTIONS
DAY BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
How do I prepare my skin the day before my appointment?
Shave, Shower, Exfoliate: Your last shower should be the day before, not on the day of your appointment. Exfoliate at least 24 hours before using a Korean Exfoliating Mitt to remove dead skin. I offer a professional line of sunless aftercare products—ask me about them.
DAY OF APPOINTMENT
How do I prepare my skin on the day of my appointment?
No Lotion: Avoid moisturizing; lotion can act as a barrier.
No Perfume: Do not apply any products to your skin.
No Makeup: Arrive free of makeup and deodorant.
No Showering or Shaving on the day of your appointment.
What do I bring to my appointment?
Wear loose, dark clothing (black sweats and long sleeve tee) and sandals. Bring a hair tie, towel, umbrella, and water bottle.
What should I NOT wear?
No leggings, shorts, dresses, yoga pants, or any tight clothes.
What can I tan in?
You can tan in a swimsuit, strapless bra and underwear, topless with underwear, or nude—whatever you feel comfortable in.
Are there different options for development time?
Yes.
PREMIUM Rapid Rinse Tan: Choose your tan depth by rinsing in 2-5 hours:
-
2 hours: Light tan
-
3 hours: Medium tan
-
4 hours: Medium/Dark tan

-
RIGHT AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
What should I expect?
You may feel slightly sticky for about an hour. You will look very tan from the bronzer—avoid wearing tight clothes or running errands.
Do Not Get Wet: Stay dry while the bronzer is on. This includes avoiding sweat and pet licks.
Relax, watch Netflix, and wait for your tan to develop.
Rinse with water and your hands only for 5 minutes—no soap or loofah.
Go to sleep.
You can sweat and get wet after your tan has set.
DAY AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
What do I do the day after my appointment?
First Real Shower: In the morning, use an approved liquid body wash. Do not exfoliate, as the tanning solution only penetrates the top layer of skin.
Use organic coconut oil to hydrate skin in the shower, then rinse it off.
Moisturize 2-3 times a day. Dryness is the main cause of early fading and can cause itchiness. (I offer professional sunless aftercare products—ask me about them.)
Drink water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
How do I shower post-spray tan?
First Rinse Only: Rinse with warm water, no soap. Pat dry.
All Other Showers: Use warm water and a sunless-friendly liquid body wash. Always pat dry, never rub. Apply tan extender lotion 2-3 times a day. (I offer a professional line of sunless aftercare products—ask me about them.)
When should I shave?
Before your appointment: Shave at least 24 hours before your appointment to allow pores to close.
After your appointment: Wait 48 hours before shaving with a clean, new razor to avoid stripping your tan.
What lotions and soaps should I NOT use?
Avoid lotions and soaps with harsh ingredients like heavy fragrances, mineral oils, parabens, sulfates, anti-acne/anti-aging properties, cocoa butter, or bar soaps.
Brands to avoid: Dove, Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, Caress, Suave, Olay, purple shampoos, or any product with perfume. We are not responsible for non-professional products that may strip your tan. Ask about our professional sunless self-care products.
What lotions and soaps should I use with an Airbrush Tan?
For the best results, use my professional sunless body products. Ask me at your appointment for recommendations. We offer a range of products, including KOREAN EXFOLIATING TAN REMOVAL MITTS.
What do you recommend?
I recommend sulfate-, paraben-, and mineral oil-free products.
What should I avoid after tanning?
Avoid hot tubs, swimming pools, salt water, sand, waxing, long swims, hot showers, exfoliating, loofahs, bug spray, antibiotics, hormone meds, baby oil, mineral oil, massage oil, and any anti-acne or anti-aging products. The only oil you should use is organic coconut oil. We cannot be held responsible for activities that may strip your tan.
GENERAL SPRAY TAN QUESTIONS
What's a Sip & Spray Tanning Party?
A tanning party at your home! Host a party, invite 5 friends, and the host tans for free. Perfect for bridal parties, bachelorettes, and birthdays.
How long does my tan last?
Your tan lasts 5-14 days, depending on skin type, prep, and post-care. Prime days are 2-6. After day 7, your tan may fade in some areas. Stay hydrated and use our tan extender lotion and body wash to prolong your tan. Ask about our professional sunless self-care products for a lasting glow.
Is airbrush tanning safe?
Yes! We use an open-face tent and organic tanning solutions with no harsh chemicals. You deserve the best!
Is it safe to airbrush tan while pregnant?
Yes, after the first trimester. Consult with your doctor for personal recommendations. Our solution is safe, non-toxic, and uses certified organic ingredients that only penetrate the top layer of skin.
Do I need to use sunscreen?
Yes, absolutely! Use an oil-free SPF. We recommend spray bottles. Ask about our professional sunless self-care products to keep your glow longer. Try Sun Bum, Australian Gold, and Coola.
Why is it better to get an airbrush tan from a professional artist rather than a booth?
We tan each client in a large, open mobile tent for fresh oxygen. Unlike booth spray tans, you won’t inhale any tanning solution. Before spraying your face, we allow time for you to close your eyes and hold your breath for about 3 seconds.
Will the tan affect my current manicure or pedicure?
No. With proper precautions, like using barrier cream, your nails will not yellow after spray tans.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, we request a 48-hour notice for cancellations to avoid a penalty. Canceling or not showing up will forfeit your deposit.
