Do you travel for weddings and special events?

Yes! Glam + Glow by Vanessa Ceja specializes in on-location beauty services, including home visits, hotels, wedding venues, and event locations throughout Northern California.

Is there a travel fee?

Yes. Travel fees are based on your location and travel time. Please provide the full service address for a personalized quote.

How do I book an appointment?

Appointments can be requested online 24/7or by submitting a booking request to bookvanessaceja@gmail.com

Please note that appointments are confirmed only after availability has been approved and your required deposit has been received.

 

Do you offer hairstyling?

At this time, I specialize in makeup, skincare, brows, lashes, and spray tanning and do not offer hairstyling services. However, I'm happy to recommend trusted hairstylists I've worked with if you'd like hair services for your appointment.

 

Makeup Questions

What do I need to bring?

Nothing! I provide everything needed for your makeup appointment, including:

  • Professional makeup

  • Luxury false eyelashes

  • Makeup chair

  • Professional lighting

  • Music for a relaxing experience

  • A luxury robe for your comfort

To ensure the best results, please arrive with a clean, makeup-free face. I also recommend gently exfoliating your face and lips and grooming any facial hair before your appointment.

Spray Tan Questions

How do I prepare the day before my appointment?

For the best, longest-lasting results:

  • Shower, shave, and exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Use a Korean Exfoliating Mitt or another oil-free exfoliating mitt to remove dead skin.

  • Your last shower should be the day before your appointment.

  • Avoid applying heavy lotions or oils after exfoliating.

How do I prepare on the day of my appointment?

Please arrive with clean, dry skin.

Do not:

  • Apply lotion, oils, sunscreen, perfume, deodorant, or makeup.

  • Shower or shave on the day of your appointment.

  • Wear jewelry that may rub against your tan during development.

These products can create a barrier and affect how evenly your tan develops.

 

What should I wear?

Please wear:

  • Loose, dark-colored clothing

  • Open-toe sandals or flip-flops

Recommended items to bring:

  • Hair tie

  • Dark towel

  • Umbrella (if rain is expected)

  • Water bottle

 

What should I avoid wearing?

Avoid anything tight or restrictive, including:

  • Leggings

  • Yoga pants

  • Shorts

  • Tight dresses

  • Tight bras or sports bras

  • Tight socks or boots

Loose-fitting clothing helps prevent rubbing and allows your tan to develop evenly.

 

What should I wear during my spray tan?

Wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. You may tan in:

  • A swimsuit

  • Strapless bra and underwear

  • Underwear only

  • Topless with underwear

  • Nude

Your comfort and privacy are always respected.

 

How long do I leave my tan on?

Premium Rapid Rinse Spray Tan

Choose your desired color by rinsing after:

  • 1 hour – Light Tan

  • 2 hours – Medium Tan

  • 3 hours – Medium-Dark Tan

  • 4 hours – Deep Dark Tan

Your tan will continue developing for up to 24 hours after your rinse, so don't worry if it looks lighter immediately after showering.

After Your Spray Tan

What should I do immediately after my appointment?

To achieve the best results, please follow these aftercare instructions:

  • You may feel slightly sticky for the first hour—this is completely normal.

  • The cosmetic bronzer will appear much darker than your final color. Don't worry—your tan will lighten after your first rinse.

  • Wear loose, dark clothing and avoid anything tight that may rub against your skin.

  • Stay completely dry while your tan is developing. Avoid showering, sweating, swimming, rain, and even pet licks.

  • Relax at home while your tan develops. This is the perfect time to unwind, watch your favorite show, or read a book.

When do I rinse?

At your recommended rinse time:

  • Rinse with lukewarm water only for about 5 minutes.

  • Use your hands only—no soap, washcloths, loofahs, or exfoliating products.

  • Gently pat your skin dry with a towel.

Your tan will continue developing for up to 24 hours after your rinse.

The Day After Your Appointment

How do I care for my tan?

To keep your tan looking fresh and even:

  • Take your first full shower using a sunless-safe liquid body wash.

  • Do not exfoliate.

  • Moisturize your skin 2–3 times daily. Hydrated skin helps your tan last longer and fade evenly.

  • Drink plenty of water to help keep your skin hydrated.

  • Ask about my professional spray tan aftercare products, specially designed to extend the life of your tan.

How should I shower?

First Rinse (Development Rinse)

  • Lukewarm water only

  • No soap

  • No loofahs or washcloths

  • Pat dry

All Future Showers

  • Use lukewarm water.

  • Use a sulfate-free, sunless-friendly liquid body wash.

  • Pat dry instead of rubbing your skin.

  • Apply moisturizer immediately after showering.

When can I shave?

  • Before your appointment: Shave at least 24 hours before your spray tan.

  • After your appointment: Wait 48 hours before shaving. Use a clean, sharp razor and shave gently to help preserve your tan.

Which products should I avoid?

Avoid products containing:

  • Sulfates

  • Parabens

  • Mineral oil

  • Heavy fragrances

  • Alcohol

  • Acne or anti-aging ingredients

  • Exfoliating acids or scrubs

Also avoid bar soaps, as they can dry out the skin and cause your tan to fade more quickly.

Common brands that may shorten the life of your tan include:

  • Dove

  • Bath & Body Works

  • Victoria's Secret

  • Olay

  • Caress

  • Suave

Purple shampoos and heavily fragranced products may also affect your tan.

What products do you recommend?

For the longest-lasting results, I recommend using professional spray tan aftercare products that are sulfate-, paraben-, and mineral oil-free.

I also carry professional aftercare products, including:

  • Tan-safe body wash

  • Daily moisturizer

  • Tan extender

What should I avoid while wearing my spray tan?

To help your tan last as long as possible, avoid:

  • Hot tubs and saunas

  • Swimming pools

  • Ocean or salt water

  • Long, hot showers

  • Excessive sweating

  • Exfoliating

  • Loofahs and exfoliating gloves

  • Waxing

  • Massage oils

  • Baby oil and mineral oil

  • Bug spray

  • Acne and anti-aging body products

Please note that your spray tan's longevity depends on proper preparation, aftercare, your skincare routine, lifestyle, and natural skin cell turnover. Following these care instructions will help you achieve the best possible results.

How long will my spray tan last?

Most spray tans last 5–10+ days, depending on your skin type, preparation, aftercare, and lifestyle.

For the best results:

  • Follow all pre- and post-care instructions.

  • Moisturize daily.

  • Stay hydrated.

  • Use professional spray tan aftercare products.

Your tan typically looks its best between Days 2–4 and will gradually fade as your skin naturally exfoliates.

Is airbrush tanning safe?

Yes! Your safety is my priority. I use a professional open-air spray tanning tent, allowing for fresh airflow throughout your appointment. My premium tanning solutions are made with high-quality, skin-friendly ingredients and are free of harsh chemicals, providing a beautiful, natural-looking glow.

Is spray tanning safe during pregnancy?

Many clients choose to receive spray tans during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, I recommend waiting until after your first trimester and consulting with your healthcare provider before your appointment.

My tanning solution only colors the outermost layer of the skin and does not penetrate deeper into the body.

Should I still wear sunscreen?

Absolutely! A spray tan does not protect your skin from UV rays.

Continue wearing a broad-spectrum, oil-free SPF every day to protect your skin while maintaining your glow.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 48-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours' notice, late cancellations, and no-shows will forfeit the deposit on file.
